What's In My Makeup Bag // Cruelty Free Edition
One of my very first posts was about giving up my favorite Cover Girl mascara and opting for a brand that doesn't test on animals. I've actually done this with the rest of my beauty routine so today I'm sharing my favorite cruelty free cosmetics. I even made a video about it!
I've been wanting to experiment with video for a while now and while this has beginner written all over it, I'm super happy with the result. The perfectionist in me keeps noticing where things could have been smoother, better, cooler. But the fun part of me didn't want to wait until I knew the ins and outs of video before uploading something!
I invite you to watch me naming the products I use and the order in which I use them, rookie mistakes and all. Not as cool as a full blown makeup tutorial, but there's not a lot to teach when it comes to my makeup routine. PLUS I thought this would be a cool way for you lovely people to hear how I talk! Maybe it'll make my overly parenthetical style make more sense? Ha! Alright without further ado, here is my first YouTube video everrr!

I buy all of my products at Target with the exception of the Tarte concealer and mascara, which I pick up at Ulta.
A WORD ON BRUSHES
I use mostly EcoTools brushes because of what they are and are not made of. They are made of mostly bamboo, which grows quickly and is just as sturdy as plastic and a thousand times prettier. The brushes are also synthetic which means they're not made of animal hair, something that's actually mattered to me long before I knew about animal testing. There is the stray e.l.f. bronzer brush and a shadow brush from Victoria's Secret that I'm pretty positive is synthetic. I highly recommend the EcoTools brushes. They're affordable, pretty, and kind to animals and the earth!
