high rise boyjeans
I love skinny jeans almost as much as I love weekends and third wave coffee shops so I was skeptical about adding a boyfriend jean to my collection of denim. I was especially skeptical because I bought these jeans while eight months pregnant. I never buy clothes without trying them on first but I bought them hoping I'd picked the right size. Thankfully, I did and they've been my go-to denim postpartum.
The high rise and magic pockets really hold my squishy belly in but the real reason I love these jeans is the wash. Ok and the fit. I've seen loads of women of different heights and body types wear these jeans and they've looked amazing on every one of them. It's why I gambled and bought the jeans without being able to try them on.
A word on the fit. A lot of the Madwell boyjeans run big so I'd recommend sizing down at least one size. All my coworkers were sizing down two sizes when I was buying these, so I did the same and I'm so glad I did. They're a little snug on my tum but I expect that. And I'm ok with it because I know this cut tends to give quite a bit and I prefer my jeans pretty fitted.
I went for simple and chic when styling this outfit. And what's simpler or chicer than a white t shirt and jeans? This v neck tee is super old which makes it great for nursing and for new mom life. I've had it for years so I won't be heartbroken if/when I get spit up on it. I wore my slide sandals again. They've seriously been my default footwear since the third trimester. It's the fact that they're slides. They're just so easy to slip on when I'm holding my baby or don't have time/energy to lace anything up. Definitely need to look into getting a pair of slip on sneakers.

I love that Brandon and I have continued our Saturday morning coffee dates now that Isaac is here. I always look forward to the craft lattes but more importantly, I love getting the chance to chit chat with Brandon. We'll debrief about our weeks, talk about our dreams, and try to crack each other up.
This weekend we strolled around midtown. I'll be honest, we did it because Isaac had fallen asleep right as we got to the coffee shop and he hadn't slept much the night or day before. I wanted to give him at least an hour of sleep before we hung out with family. We walked around a neighborhood that wasn't ours, enjoying the weather and the company.
