Having a successful capsule wardrobe starts with awareness. It's pretty improbable that any of us will create the perfect capsule wardrobe, no matter how long we've been making them, because it's impossible to foresee what life's going to throw our way.

I took my own advice this season and paid close attention to what I was reaching for day in and day out. I didn't make a list, I just kept track of my thought process while getting ready in the morning. And I started noticing patterns.

It’s that time of year when the mornings are hot and the afternoon is hotter! I’m stoked for my first summer in Sacramento and looking forward to seeing how my capsule holds up in this heat.

I shared about my capsule wardrobe process and made a wardrobe planner (!!!) a couple weeks ago. Today I’m breaking down how I used my planner to build my summer capsule plus giving you the full look at this season’s wardrobe.

So you know how I was just talking about wanting to go back to the sunflower fields?

Well, my coworker and new friend Kelly saw my post and before we knew it, we were planning a trip to the sunflowers.

Summer is officially here and I'm so excited to get back to exploring my lovely city. It's crazy to think Brandon and I moved to Sacramento almost a year ago! We've made good friends and settled into our day-to-day life here, but I definitely feel like we're still getting to know the city.

Hey, hey! I'm back with another installment of Capsule Wardrobe 101! Today's all about how to make a capsule wardrobe!

A few weeks ago I asked you guys if you had any questions about capsule wardrobes and the answer was a resounding yes! It was really cool to see your questions come in, especially because I was a little scared that no one would ask anything!

Most of the questions revolved around how to make a capsule wardrobe for the first time and although I tried to record a video of me answering your questions (twice), I realized that while I was answering your questions, the answers weren’t really covering the how to part of how to build a capsule wardrobe. Plus I got the impression that everyone’s questions were coming from people who are interested in downsizing their wardrobe but aren’t entirely sure where to begin or how to go about it.

I find it interesting how life is a constant curve ball. One day you’re planning for a 10x10, thinking you know what the weather and your schedule will be like, and the next thing you know, you’re working thrice as much as you expected to, your hot water is basically non-existent, and it isn’t nearly as sunny as you planned for.

Even with the craziness and the variables, I’m glad I stuck with the challenge.

See, the last day of the challenge landed on Easter Sunday. While I love the t shirt dress and other clothes I chose to include in this challenge, none of them screamed Resurrection Sunday to me.
