7 month bumpdate + thoughts on being pregnant during a pandemic
We’re smack in the third trimester at this point and I’m getting antsier and antsier to meet our sweet girl in a couple of months!
6 month bumpdate + what i wore last month
Six months, SIX MONTHS! Somehow this pregnancy has flown by and I’m on the verge of entering the third trimester! 2020 has been the most intense year to be alive, let alone pregnant. There’s good, hard work to be done, and I’m actually super thankful I get to do my part in this movement.
I’m also happy to report that baby girl is healthy and kicking a lot! Dressing the bump has been extra interesting this time around, since we’re still sheltering in place for the most part, even as our city opens up more and more.
a quarantine gender reveal
I woke up this morning full of excitement. 21 weeks pregnant, beyond ready to find out if this baby is a girl or boy.
I didn’t want to make any elaborate plans for a gender reveal. Being pregnant during a global pandemic has been weird, to say the least. I originally thought I’d want to just go by myself, come home and then open the envelope with Brandon. But last night at 9pm I changed my mind. I don’t know why, but I all of a sudden wanted to at least try to have Brandon with me. I knew I’d be upset if I didn’t try and by some miracle would have been allowed to have a guest.
notes for izzy: happy second birthday!
Izzy Dude, how are you two?! This last year has absolutely flown by. Heck , the last two years have flown by! It’s hard to believe that two years ago, I was laboring hard in a hot shower at the hospital, trying to get my body to relax so you could be born. Tonight, I’m sitting on the couch while your dad helps you drift off to sleep.
Where do I even begin?
we're having (another) baby! + A bumpdate
Post-Christmas winter has been interesting. I’ve felt the pull to start writing here again, but had no idea what to talk about. I’ve hardly been writing in my journal either, so I’m really rusty when it comes to writing out my thoughts and deciding what I want to share.
But between a fun new podcast that my friend and I started and some really big life news, I felt like I just needed to resurrect the old blog and start sharing again, even if I wasn’t sure where to start.
Ok, enough teasing of the big news. Here it is *drum roll*…
on getting dressed
When we first brought Isaac home, I spent most of my time wearing whatever I'd worn to bed the night before. The first month can be such a shock to your daily rhythm that you can hardly even think about what to wear. I basically only got dressed for church on Sundays.
I started noticing that I felt good about myself on Sundays and could handle the craziness of being a new parent better on those days.
Isaac's birth story
The Saturday before I went into labor, I woke up, slowly got up, and felt something trickle down my leg. After some furious Googling, I called the advice nurse because there was an ever so slight chance I was leaking amniotic fluid. She told me to monitor it for the next couple of hours and if it continued, to call back.
Of course, I was fine all Saturday.
maternity shoot
A few weeks ago Brandon and I met up with our friend and brilliant photographer Chloe for a maternity photo session. I was on the fence about whether or not to do a maternity shoot for most of my pregnancy but in the end, I'm so glad we did one. For one, Chloe is an incredible photographer. She knows her way around her camera and has endless vision. Her photographic eye is just out of this world.
second trimester update
FRIENDS! I’m officially in my third trimester. This pregnancy has just flown right by. I can’t believe we’re less than 100 days from meeting our little guy.
Instead of just listing out thoughts I’ve had during this part of the pregnancy like I did last time, I thought it’d be fun to share a little more this time around. I searched around for other trimester updates and compiled this little list of questions.
