summer 10x10 day 4: warm tone monochrome
It's day 4 of the summer 10x10 challenge!
I've pretty much stayed in my outfit comfort zone for the first three days of this challenge and I thought it was time to mix things up. One of my goals is to boldly use color and this outfit is my attempt at that.
summer 10x10 day 3: madewell style
This outfit screams Madewell even though none of the pieces are from there. I didn't set out to replicate Madewell's styling but it's really easy to do with Target's Universal Thread collection – which is so heavily inspired by Madewell, it’s hilarious!
summer 10x10 day 2: thrifted tee + cotton shorts
Welcome to day 2 of the summer 10x10!
We have plans to spend the day visiting Brandon’s family so they can hang out with Isaac. These are good, low key Saturdays where we lounge around, eat all the barbecue and fruit and catnap while the grandparents love on our babe.
summer 10x10 day 1: rust tank top + denim shorts
It's day 1 of the summer 10x10 challenge!
My main goal is to keep it colorful and what better piece to do that with than this rust orangey/yellow tank top.
summer 10x10 challenge kick off
It’s officially Summer 10x10 time! This challenge always seems to come around when I’m lacking inspiration with my wardrobe. It's got perfect timing because I think the best time to play with limits is when I feel myself reaching for the same pieces.
on reusable water bottles
I feel about plastic water bottles the way Taylor Swift feels about her and whomever getting back together. It’s never, ever happening.
Like, ever.
on getting dressed
When we first brought Isaac home, I spent most of my time wearing whatever I'd worn to bed the night before. The first month can be such a shock to your daily rhythm that you can hardly even think about what to wear. I basically only got dressed for church on Sundays.
I started noticing that I felt good about myself on Sundays and could handle the craziness of being a new parent better on those days.
small space nursery essentials
When Brandon and I found out we were expecting a bundle of joy we debated on whether or not we needed to move. We felt a lot of pressure to move, which is understandable. Most people upsize their living situation when they decide to start a family. But that wasn't in the cards for us, so instead of forcing ourselves into a financial grave, we decided we'd make our studio apartment work for us and our new babe as long as possible.
Shockingly, I quickly got overwhelmed by everything we seemed to "need" for this baby. #saracsm
high rise boyjeans
I love skinny jeans almost as much as I love weekends and third wave coffee shops so I was skeptical about adding a boyfriend jean to my collection of denim. I was especially skeptical because I bought these jeans while eight months pregnant. I never buy clothes without trying them on first but I bought them hoping I'd picked the right size. Thankfully, I did and they've been my go-to denim postpartum.
